If you can’t get enough of kinetic lo-fi jangle, set your controls to Detroit, home of Stef Chura. Every year there seems to be one LP that totally sideswipes us here at the Nest, and while the year is young, it’ll be awhile before anything kicks Chura’s Messes off the turntable. Like Palehound‘s Dry Food, it sinks its hooks into you and just digs deeper with subsequent listens.

Last year’s “Slow Motion” single whet our appetites, and the full-length debut delivers to the point where it’s hard to get past the opening one/two punch of that song and “You.” Greater treasures await, including “Time To Go” and our current life anthem, the closing track “Speeding Ticket.” Catch Stef and the band live, currently on the road headed toward SXSW, on tour with @Sad13, (Sadie Dupuis from Speedy Ortiz).
