Moor Hound, the folky brainchild of Indiana native Steve Marino, embodies a genuine Midwestern spirit floating around finger-picking guitar melodies and organ riffs. His 2013 release, Stifled Sprit sounds like the culmination of various influences, somewhere between Josh Ritter and Ben Kweller, all wrapped up into 9 original tunes. While his influences are clear, there’s nothing inauthentic about Moor Hound. Marino’s lyrics are personal, his live performances are intimate, and his skills are sincere.

Escaping the wintry weather, Moor Hound is soon to embark on a tour of Florida and the Southeast for the greater part of March. Watch the video below for a taste of the sweet, folky goodness Moor Hound has to offer.
