HEAR THIS: Lujo Records 2011 Sampler

April 01. 2011 | By Jessica Rae Cortez

Erik Aucoin started the indie rock label, Lujo Records, in Louisiana circa 2001, with a commitment to uphold high aesthetic standards. Here’s an interesting fact for your burgeoning education- Lujo is a Spanish word (pronounced lou-hoe) that means high-quality. This is the case with the label’s 2011 Sampler. Whether its a dance tune that mixes piano beats with soaring lyrics or a chill guitar musing, this album covers the gamut of indie excellence. The must-listen bands on the 2011 Lujo Records roster include: Mrenc, John Lamonica, A Lull, and Enlou. A Lull finished wrapping their tour dates with the Cold War Kids last month, and Enlou recently totaled their van in Philly while on tour. Without a doubt, both bands are destined to have brighter futures! Get the FREE sampler HERE!
