Fierce Creatures will eat you up and their sound will devour you alive. In 2011, the band received a heart-felt send off from fans in their beloved hometown of Fresno as they made their way to SXSW. Upon their return from a very successful trip to Austin, Fierce Creatures went into the studio to work on their debut LP. Since that time, the band has been on a touring frenzy introducing their new album Catacomb Party to the world.

Fierce Creatures’ sound is often described as “a party at the graveyard” with tempos drifting and diving and moods soaring with glee then plummeting in exhaustion. Singer Amanda Valdez is the lone lady in the group with six other gentleman, Nathaniel Stiers (bass), Tomas Galvan (drums), Mike Adame (keyboards), Mathr Collom (guitar/vocals), Joel Melton (guitar), and Jon Rulloda (guitar). Valdez’s presence is, well, fierce, and collectively the band’s boisterous energy during their live performances is intoxicating. Fans of Givers, Grouplove, and Arcade Fire should definitely check out Fierce Creatures. Catacomb Party releases on August 7th on Paper Garden Records.
