Basement Revolver capture what it means to feel blue with the melancholic line of “It’s a really bad time right now,” take from “Johnny”. Vocalist Chrisy Hurn is introspective in her words, believing that the right time for communication will come soon. The depressed vocals and personal lyrics highlight her feeling of something heavy on her chest. Johnny is real and, in Hurn’s words, a “good human.” With each lonely guitar chord, audiences realize that they have their own Johnny. The numbness felt by the Ontario fuzz pop band is demonstrated with each bit of instrumentation. If you find yourself on depressing train rides contemplating relationships, Basement Revolver know your pain. Good times should come soon–but not now.
