HEAR THIS: Aidan Knight

Aidan Knight is a simple man. He’s got the voice that handsome ghosts want. He brings the atmosphere of a hitchhiker trying to catch a ride on an August night. His voice never seems to pierce his cloudy electronics, but inclusions of brass, organs, and drums do the job of opening the veil (“Funeral Singers”). “The Arp” has the singer-songwriter channel his inner Snow Patrol, telling prospective lovers that he won’t sing to them every night. But he will sing for himself, watching the cars clear out from parking lots in fast motion (“All Clear”). Get ready to swoon. Each Other, the Victoria-based musician’s latest album, has tracks that build up from their initial gloom through glorious instrumentation to resonate into strange joy.
