DITTIES FROM DOWN UNDER: Cloud Control

December 06. 2011 | By Catriona Noble

Cloud Control take command of any stage they possess with a combo of dreamy, emotional, real, and catchy tunes. This five-piece exquisitely deliver the soul of the ’70s, clearly children of the flower-power-baby-boomers by their interpretation of the true ground breaking legends of that time. From The Mamas and The Papas thru to The Rolling Stones yet modified for their own generation. They are extremely tight with male and female vocals, very much folk story telling, yet positive and upbeat. These gentle harmonies create goose bumps on every down to earth level.

Aussie’s answer back to Coachella is “Splendour in the Grass” where Cloud Control snagged the highlight moment when they took to the stage on the outdoor amphitheater. Half the hill flash mobbed it up and down, stirring up a cloud of dust. This will be a Splendour highlight moment of all time.

I’m loving this generation’s take on music, all the old school’s major genres have all been injected with instant overload information and these kids are all riding on the path. Prepare to be amazed.
