DITTIES FROM DOWN UNDER: Art Vs. Science

February 24. 2011 | By Catriona Noble

This surprise Cracker Jack, right-out-of-the-box trio from Sydney, burst onto our airwaves in 2008 when they entered a national Unearthed radio competition and won with their straight-to-that-happy-place intense energy tune “Parlez Vous Francais”. Lead singer, Dan Mac, who also plays keyboards, has a very mature, intelligent sounding voice, backed by this clever electro-modern-dance-pop fun factory. They hit the festival scene with their live performance, and in one word, KAPOW! You don’t just dance you experience the meaning of ART Vs. SCIENCE and they certainly capture that in their music. “Magic Fountain” was born mid-last year which starts with spoken word followed by an up-beat, heavy low-bass grind leading your journey into the high-notes of the magic then BAM! If you’re feeling like a lift, I guarantee a round with Art Vs. Science will do it!

Upcoming USA touring dates:

3/24 @ Popscene, San Francisco
3/25 @ The Central, Santa Monica
3/26 @ Bootleg Theater, Los Angeles
3/28 @ Mercury Loughs, New York
