Here we have a truly original album steeped in tradition. Carnival-esque at times, generous with the lap steel, and with lyrics that feel good even if they may be sung with melodies melancholy and gently lilting, Fits have earned a gold star with this release. "Unemployment Song" lifts my spirits as I'm reminded of my Wednesday 3PM pajamas and "Ode 2B," "Ball of Twine" and "A Hole in One" all stand out in a crowd of favorites. This album is so good it feels like Hawaiian Hula music even though it clearly isn't. Put the 12 tracks on repeat for awhile and while away the hours.
