TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 5/12/2022 Edition

May 12. 2022 | By Wayne Jessup

Welcome back to Tracks, kicking off this week with a hat tip to the NBA playoffs in the form of “Hangover Game”, MJ Lenderman’s take on Michael Jordan’s“flu game”. The hardest part was picking just one tune from his stunning new LP Boat Songs, out now on Dear Life Records, and more than likely a topic of conversation for us at the end of the year.

London trio Deep Tan forges a sparse spiky sound on their brand new Diamond Horsetail EP, out now on Practise Music. Our choice is the compelling title track. Moving on to Denmark, Copenhagen-based seven piece outfit Quiet Sonia unveil “This Tender Violence”, from their forthcoming EP Wild And Bitter Fruits on Pink Cotton Candy Records. Finishing up, it’s Why Not from Minneapolis, with “You’re My Kind”, the latest single from their self-titled, self-released debut LP that’s been years in the making, and finally releasing tomorrow.
