HEAR THIS: Casket Girls

Casket Girls is a collaboration between the Greene sisters, Phaedra and Elsa, and Ryan Graveface (Black Moth Super Rainbow). Sleepwalking is their debut, and “Heartless” is a taste from it. It’s straight up danceable indie with a side of lingering creepiness-let’s call it Doom Pop, for want of a better descriptor. The Savannah, GA trio aims more for a Twin Peaks spookiness than traditional goth vibe, and across the LP, hits more than it misses, thanks to Graveface’s increasingly strange arrangements. The restless buzz of the single sticks after only a few listens, but it’s the deadpan charm and inscrutablility of the ladies that keeps you coming back.
