Channeling musical greats from Dylan himself to more prodigies like Kevin Devine, this self-titled Pearly Gate Music release is packed with emotion and replay value, and still, just may be the one of the least-heard album of 2010.

“Big Escape” feels like the song that has been sitting on the tip of your tongue since puberty. Prompting a ‘big escape,’ the track makes you want to run away to wherever Pearly Gate Music is heading. As singer Zach Tillman tells us that “all of our strengths will feel like a puzzle,” we instead feel like as of his strengths feel like genius. “Oh What A Time” is a bare-boned love song of a different kind, prompting you to really listen to the lyrics. The depth of the song is not left unnoticed, nor is the passion on tracks like “Daddy Wrote You Letters. Bringing forth influences like The Wrens, the track breaks your heart over and over again. Luckily, “I Woke Up” uplifts listeners to a transient appreciation of everything they have ever experienced.

For fans of music, buy this album. For fans of experience, buy this album quicker.
