Greta Isaac brings a pop that blends the electronic insanity of Major Lazer and the sharp sweetness of Sara Bareilles. Isaac knows that getting her head above the crowd requires this smoothie blend of experimentation. She shows her power through manipulated shouts that are sprinkled behind her words (“Tied,” “Comfortable”) and a bitter punk tone reminiscent of early Avril Lavigne. “Another day, another tragedy,” the Wales musician utters, waiting for the awful days to end. Her words and swirling beats are the reality check to keep things in focus in this strange, strange world.
