PICTURE THIS: Black Elk, Totimoshi, Minot @ Bottom of the Hill, SF 4/19/12
It was quite the display of heavy metal punk at Bottom of The Hill last Thursday. Originally hailing from Portland, headliners Black Elk showed that distance can’t keep them from rocking. Band lives have scattered members to Los Angeles, San Diego, and Seattle, and practice has been rather virtual. It’s amazing they can keep a nearly 1,200 mile relationship together.
Totimoshi, also hailing form LA, played a mix of classic tracks from their album Ladron as well as their new album Avenger, on which Mastodon‘s guitarist plays on the last track (and Helmet‘s Paige Hamilton helped produce).
San Francisco’s own Minot opened the show with a heavy set of instrumental rock.
