Lauren Mann & The Fairly Odd Folk are a beautiful juxtaposition. Mann’s pure, calming vocals alongside the group’s lively acoustic performance are something to see, or hear. The Canadian frontwoman gets right into it on stage. It’s hard to believe such a powerful sound comes from such a small lady, but make no mistake — she will own it. Often playing with a ukulele and backed by an acoustic guitar, Mann and co. create pleasant melodies and beats that land somewhere between folk and simple acoustic. Try not to become intoxicated by Mann’s vocals. But if you do, it’s definitely not the worst thing in the world. In fact we’d call you lucky.
