HEAR THIS: Kamp!

November 09. 2012 | By Patryk Mrozek

In their homeland of Poland, Kamp! has been almost unanimously recognized as the next big thing since their five track EP, Thales One, hit the web in mid-2009. Now, after more than three years of waiting and a slew of unmistakably ’80s-anchored electro-pop cuts in between, the Wrocław trio is finally about to deliver a debut LP that just might make them big on this side of the pond. The album will be out on November 23rd and is now ushered in with a fresh single. “Sulk” doesn’t have a memorable hook like some of the earlier songs, but is one of their most spaced-out and atmospheric works to date with plenty of synth-soaked ear candy to hang your ear on. Above all, it’s a well-made album track that shows off spotless production and a professional hand with arrangment. Which, given the band’s history, is exactly what we need from them right now.
