YOU GOTTA SEE THIS: “The Break Up Song” by Boombox Saints ft. Jill Laxamana

I’ve never been a fan of Valentine’s Day bashing (can’t hate what you don’t have), but anyone still grumbling about trash bins overflowing with empty heart-shaped boxes should revel in “The Break Up Song.” Boombox Saints (nice name) are ostensibly hip-hop artists, so this must be the R&B-infused interlude on Bringin’ the Boom Back: Based on a True Story. A dolorous flourish of piano keys sets the stage for the traditional litany of regrets while a ballerina-cum-ribbon twirler-cum bowler shows off in the background. Perhaps on the next track Willem Dafoe describes what really happened.
