There’s a certain personal and emotional quality about bedroom music that makes the genre sound more real and straightforward than most, and once you take a listen to the stripped down sounds of SoCal artist Flatsound, you can’t help but to feel a connection. The young musician certainly has a way of captivating listeners with his smooth, subtle voice, and at times, it can be reminiscent of Andy Hull or Conor Oberst, but what really stuck out to us was the amount of passion and heartfelt sincerity that was poured into each track of his latest album Sleep. Now you may or may not be a fan of acoustic music, but Flatsound is more than just another guy with a guitar and regardless of if his songs are drowned into delicate ambiance or enveloped by lo-fi atmospheres, there’s an undeniable appeal and beauty to it all and we’re certainly fans over here at The Owl Mag.
